Infusionsoft Tips for Beginners

Congratulations on your decision to use Infusionsoft for your customer relationship management (CRM) needs. Powering tens of thousands of businesses — big and small — it’s become the preferred choice of CRM software, and for good reason: it’s easy to use, features an intuitive interface, and offers a vast array of marketing features. With that said, many beginners feel lost and confused upon using Infusionsoft for the first time. In an effort to smooth over the transition, we’re going to reveal some key tips and tricks for new users.

Test Your Web Forms

It’s always a good idea to test your web forms before making them live. Even if looks right, it could have serious errors that restrict its functionality. Infusionsoft allows the testing of web forms by clicking the “Test” button at the top of the page, choosing the user from which you would like to access the form, entering your information, and clicking the “Submit” button. If all goes well, it should bring up the Thank You page. If there’s an error, however, you won’t see the Thank You page.

Upload and Store Files

Did you know that you can store files directly on the Infusionsoft server? Rather than storing your files locally where they are susceptible to data loss, try to get into the habit of uploading them to Infusionsoft. This is done by hovering over the “Home” icon at the top of the page and choosing “Files.” Infusionsoft has several different categories of files, including Company Files, My Files, Company Images, Digital Products, and Contact Records. When uploading files, be sure they are placed in the appropriate category.

Completed Goals Stop All Sequences

When a contact completes a goal, Infusionsoft will automatically stop all subsequent sequences leading to that goal. In other words, don’t assume a sequence will continue once a contact has achieved one of your specified goals.

You Cannot Connects Goals to Each Other

When building your Infusionsoft campaigns, keep in mind that you cannot connect one goal to another goal. This is why it’s a good idea to put a sequence in the middle of the first goal to tag the contact. Assuming the contact proceeds with the second goal, a second tag should trigger, denoting the contact has achieved both goals.

Customize Your Drop-Down Menu

Infusionsoft has a pretty convenient drop-down menu that’s filled with helpful links and tools. However, you can customize the drop-down menu to add or remove links.  From the main menu, go to CRM > Settings, at which point you can either add more list options or edit the existing lists. Feel free to play around with different layouts to see what works and what doesn’t. There’s no such thing as a “best” menu layout since every user’s needs are different.
